HTML to RSS Generator
Hi,
On 28-11-2009 I have made an automatic RSS Feed Generator 1.3 in PHP.
This script takes a HTML page and uses the
heading to cut it in peaces and generate an RSS feed with your heading as items.
The script can be used to generate a RSS feed live at the very moment.
I use it to generate a RSS feed using my content page generated by CMSIMPLE.
But it is even maybe useful if you have made a HTML page using your favorite HTML writer and then transform it to a RSS feed.
The script is released under GPL license and the changes you have to made to get it running do have a comment in the script itself, it is not hard to do. It is also possible to make more filters if you are running into problems with strange characters.
My own XML RSS feed is running with this script (see button right below).
You can see a test content page at:
http://www.rumping.net/rss_gen/content.htm
You can find the test rss.php using this test content.htm at:
http://www.rumping.net/rss_gen/rss.php
Download the rss.php and the content.htm as zip file at:
http://www.rumping.net/rss_gen/rumping_rss_gen.zip
Change log:
- 2-12-2009 version 1.4 - added the option to set maximum length of the RSS items.
- 8-12-2009 added a character set configuration option and modified link configuration
- 18-01-2010 added a second rss generator to the zip file (testrss.php) this generator can add the real link to your rss feed but not all the way yet. When you filter on the <h2> header you have to add the <h1> header to the link variable in the script (I use the testrss.php myself on this site).
- 28-01-2010 added the possibility to testrss.php (1.4b in the zip file) to choose what item will be the first to show up on your feed so you can select a range to display. Now it is possible to configure the rss for a special subject ( I have 3 feeds see below).
